Sounds like a reasonable spec for bird photography??

No mention of cost or when it will be available - unless anyone knows differently???

I will be watching closely - looks a similar spect to the d600 but DX rather than FX.

Doesn't look like the hoped for d400 unfortunately!

unfortunately at that price its coming in at more than the higher specced d7000 ,so i would guess it will drop in price rather quickly .wheres our d400 nikon????

Or where is the VR version of the 300mm f4, or the 400mm 5.6 with AFS and/or VR?

I thought that the D7000 was due to be replaced by the D7100 which presumably will be 25MP.

Oh I hope so. so I am NOT going to buy the 5200 only to be miffed when the D7100 comes out a month later. (see the V2 posts :-C)

The pronlem with the 5000 series is that you need to use motorised lenses like the AF-S. I assume the 5200 will be no different. That wipes out a lot of very good older autofocus lenses from both Nikon and the likes of Tokina. I wish they weren't gooing on a megapixel chase either but I suppose that's a marketing essential.
