Was on my way home when spotted what I thought was a common gull. Shape didn't seem right though and the bird was on its own so took a long range photo. Looking at it on the computer, I've no still no idea what it is.

Adult Black headed gull moulting out of summer plumage and into winter plumage.

Is is just me, or does that have a Bonaparte's look to it? Can't quite make out the bill colour on this monitor

Looks more like Black-headed to me.
