Hi,
doing some excessive reading on dpreview.com i found the canon g6
unfortunately searching this forum does not help - there seem to be no threads concerning this cam
what do you think? same issue as with the g7: 4x zoom is too much?

the g6 looks promising to me: remote-control, raw...

what do you think?
bye
Tobias

Tobias, I guess you can tell from the over-whelming response what the answer is. It may not be impossible but it would be difficult. I would like to play around with one and see what one has to do to make it work.
What I've done with the A640 is have a short adapter made so that I can use it at about 10 - 22 mm without vignetting. I suspect that you could do the same with the G6. It would even be better to use a long Eye Relief eyepiece.
