Gull from Hingol Pakistan - taken on the coast. I am guessing it is a Steppe gul - parallel looking bill, light under but strangely quite blotchy underneath?

Never seen a completely juvenile steppe gull, but that's what it seems to be. Don't worry about the blotches, that's found basically in all juvenile large gulls. However I think it's impossible to separate from an 'eastern' cachinnans. But that's not likely to be on range.

Interestingly the first Gulls that have arrived on the Pakistani coastline as early as 3rd week of August have all been Barabensis judging by the adults and near adults.

I take it the first is a Barabensis.

What about the second?
