I've not owned a non-HD Swarovski but did own Leica 62 non-APO and found it to be an excellent scope. I now have the Swarovski 65 HD and a Leica 77 APO. In my experience any difference between HD,APO etc, is only very slight and most noticeable at the beginning or end of the day when the light dies down the rest of the time you would be hard pushed to tell the difference. If you intend Digiscoping a HD scope would be a better buy.
