"magic halo" works beautifully (1 Viewer)

Many of you may have heard of the "magic halo" that is used to repel sparrows and wonder if it is effective. We had an intolerable infestation of them, as well as of grackles. They would just about deplete a full feeder in a day! I read about the magic halo and made one of my own out of coat hangers and twine. This is to let all know that it works miraculously well! 99% of the sparrows are deterred, and have stayed deterred as well. It also worked for the grackles! And the amazing thing is that "preferred" birds - goldfinches, chickadees, woodpeckers, cardinals, titmice, nuthatches, &c - are not affected and munch happily away. I would love to know why it works but I am happy it does. And those who opine about "speciesism" should know that sparrows are a terrible invasive species. They are pests that crowd out other birds and deterring their growth is a favor not just to yourself but to other birds.
