Feathers Wild Bird Care
Hi all,

Nice to see the Sussex group on here is fairly active, we all know it's one of the best parts of the country for birding!

Just thought I'd mention for those near enough we have a small Nature Area and hide for watching garden birds. We're based in Salehurst, nr. Robertsbridge (around half way between Hastings and Tunbridge Wells) and welcome people to come and use the hide for a pleasant bit of birding. Below is a picture of the area (though I don't think it does it justice!)

As well as regularly posting our sightings on the SOS website as well as submitting them to BirdTrack, we put all our recent sightings (and full bird list) on our website here

Our latest addition (seen on Saturday) was a lone male Crossbill who passed overhead.

3 Goldcrests in the holly this morning, the Wren is also very active. Regular visits from the Nuthatches, Great Spotted Woodpeckers, Coal and Marsh Tits. The Sparrowhawk is probably in about 4/5 times a day too!

Osprey and Buzzard

Taken Tuesday 3rd September, shortly after a Raven had just flown over! Really pleased to not only see the Osprey here, but more so to get these 2 species in the same photo together, showing the huge size difference.

Lesser Redpoll this afternoon joining the dozen or so Siskins and as many Goldfinches. The male Kestrel is prospecting the church, a pair of regular Goldcrests and a Treecreeper on the peanut feeder outside the shop. A pair of Grey Wagtails were around yesterday.
