During the Xmas period I put my telesecope and tripod in the cupboard and today put up it back up today but for some strange reason it won't get in focus and I had pushed the scope forward and back and its just not getting in focus after pushing the knob to one end to another. Any tips?

What kind of scope is it, Euan? When you say "push...forward and back" and "pushing the knob" I imagine an MM2, with which I once had a focussing problem (repaired for nothing by Opticron).
