Legret with black toes? (1 Viewer)

I've been getting Legrets (NE.London) almost daily, between Oct-Apr for the last ten years, first time I've noted one with black toes though. :eek!:

I've often seen little egrets with black feet on my many trips to Spain and it has always been a coating of black mud from where they've been feeding, usually whil they are in flight from one feeding area to another. I've looked through my photos, but I dodn't seem to have a photo of one, probably because when it comes to little egret photography they are one of those species that is so much part of the landscape that I tend not to bother with them.
