Owl in Texas (1 Viewer)

Just realized we have a neighbor that has taken shelter in the hole of a Sweet Gum tree 50 feet from the front door. Heard the sounds for a week or so and didn't know what it was. Turns out it is a Screach Owl. I matched exactly the song of the Screach Owl on a web site but ours seems to be a dark orange color. Would this be an Eastern, Western or some other type. Plain screach sound matched ours but the sound of Eastern and Western don't. What's up? Just want to learn more. Does anyone know alot about these types of owls? Will he stay for awhile, Do they maintain the same nest for years or not, How do I know if it is male or female, etc. Thanks for any help.
