This beaver kept on slapping his tail and diving as he followed me in his flood zone along side an abandoned railroad track. I'm guessing he was trying to send me a message. Wonder what it was trying to say?

Well I believe when a beaver slaps his tail on the waters surface, it's a warning to other beavers that a predator is around. It was probably you, but there might have been some other large predator around too.

I agree with Okwaho and also beavers have their young kits in April,May and June. This beaver might of been a little protective.Beavers are very strong animals and nothing to mess with.I hope this helps. Also I would like to say Hello to you and Okwaho.
regards,Steve
