Hi,
Those house sparrows have become a true nuisance in my backyard. Currently, they're having a hard time getting some share out of the feeder. A small group of territorial song sparrows often visit my yard, and unlike many other native birds (juncos, finches, etc), they're not easily intimidated, and it's always the songs that chases away the house sparrows. Therefore, house sparrows became more wary before visiting the feeder, and they're not as abundant in my yard as before. Other bird species also recieved chance to get some share out of it. A good solution for house sparrows is attracting song sparrows.
