Caspian Tern migration (1 Viewer)

I have photographed these two Caspian Terns in October in Danube Delta. The juvenile was begging for food from the adult. As far as I know the Caspian Terns no longer nests in Danube Delta.

Would this mean that the juvenile and the adult were migrating together?
Is this an usual thing that Caspian Tern adults and juvenile, still fed by them, migrate together?

Hi Christian

Seen terns of other species do the same thing and gulls of course. Adults and juveniles on passage together.

Good birding area you have there....it's on my list:)

Here in Portugal wintering Sandwich and Caspian Terns are still being whined at by siblings well into the winter proper - its something we see a lot of.
