saw it on the news it appears to have the body of a fish but the head of another animal species. It looks like a half dolphin half fish to me

Looks like a fairly ordinary fish with some sort of growth or deformity which has distorted the front of the skull.

you mean 'run carp like this'?


Agree with Stuart that it could well be a genuine photo catching a deformity tho - maybe the other side didn't look so dolphin like. (Bit like those pics of the virgin mary on a cliffside that was actually a fence post and some shadow.)

There is actually a video in the link and the fish is breathing so deformity rather than fake it seems.

Perhaps an excess of estrogen in the water?

Or an "evolutionary snap shot frame" of a Pallid Swift substituting it's wings for fins in the morphing process.
