Which Nikon camera for swarovski (1 Viewer)

Hello, I own a Swarovski ATS 80mm angled scope and fancy starting digiscoping. I've tried researching which camera to get and a lot of the information is outdated as technology moves on so fast. I have always liked nikon products, however will try others.
Which compact camera would you suggest and with which mount, I am not blessed with lots of money. However don't want to waist money on the wrong product.
Any suggestions welcome, reading older posts shows some nikon cameras have a thread or fitting which attaches to an adapter which I assume reduces cost.

Please can someone can point me in the right direction

Regards Oli

Everyone raves about the Nikon 1. Looking at some of the images I have seen I can see why. Getting cheaper now the Nikon 2 is out.
