Some stuff from Morroco ! (1 Viewer)

Well people I finally finished the Black bellied Sandgrouse piece today.
Just in time befor it was picked up by a courier to go
to the Gallery. Over all very pleased with it although I'm not sure
about the birds being cut off of the left side? but hay ho its
done now!

the dimensions of the piece are 81 x 122 cm on mdf panel.

Onto the next Moroccan gem. Bonelli's Eagle!:t:

Wow!!!
The distant mountains in the piece add a tremendous amount of depth and realism. This is incredible!! Kind of like Nick said... I feel like ducking;) I really like that painting and can't wait to your next one!!

I have posted in the gallery.
Hallmark!
It's actually an honour to have 'been part' of the creation of such a sublime piece of art. Fecking wonderful!
(Just a teensy-weensy bit disappointed to have had a sneak-preview of my Christmas present - ah well, I'll have to feign surprise when I unwrap it!)

Love it Andrew and it been great seeing how you brought it all together. Like everyone else I'm looking forward to whats next!

Morroco revisited

I was fortunate to be able to revisit Morroco last year
again because of the outstanding generosity of one of my
most important clients.

So in late Nov found me yet again SE of the Atlas mountains
in the desert area around Missour.

I only had a few day's and not much time for serious birding.
However I did manage to get some sketching done and in
the end did get to see quite a few species.

Here's some of the Sketches.

I nearly ducked

I agree with Nick on this one Andrew - I can practically see them flushing - fantastic movement - light is superb - altogether a great painting!

Bring on the Bonelli's Eagle...

Here are some more from the same trip.

Sketches of Desert and Black Wheatears

I've also posted this painting just done in the last
couple days. The Goldfinch is one of about five birds found
on these formidible thistles that seem to grow in the area.
you would'nt want to fall into them thats for sure.

one of my most favorite pieces of recent.
