Has anyone installed OS X Lion yet? I am wondering whether to put it on my iMac but Snow Leopard is running beautifully and I don't want to introduce any problems from the new software. My main concern is whether my existing third-party applications such as Adobe CS4 and Pixelmator will run all right, as I don't wish to upgrade them.
I had a look at the new features of the software on the Apple site and, to be honest, there is not too much there which I need or want. One of the main features seems to be the use of gestures for navigation but I assume I would need to buy a trackpad to use them on my iMac.
The only reason for upgrading to the latest software is that it is only available from the App Store and this can only be done if Snow Leopard is installed and running. If this becomes standard Apple practice then in the future it will not be possible, or easy, to skip a version before upgrading.
I will probably wait a week or two to see how other people are getting on with it and what issues they are encountering.
