Small raptor / New Delhi (1 Viewer)

I said Shikra, because it was small, but it didn't look like a Shikra to me at all actually.

Any other opinion, please?

Thank you!

Is there or is there not a yellow orbital ring on this bird ?
It's not easy.

Pale yellow what I am seeing on my screen, certainly not grey, and the throat is lightly streaked lacking a mesial stripe.

BTW Andy, orbital ring refers to the skin surrounding the eye not the iris but yes, iris colour is age-related.

Could it be Eurasian Sparrowhawk?

This is the only other picture I have of the bird.

Thank you all for the feedback!

Sorry Grahame, I did know that, Shikra usually have darker eyes though.
