Canon SX50 & SX40 Bird Gallery (1 Viewer)

Hello everyone,

I've just updated my bird photography gallery, which includes images primarily taken with my Canon SX50 & SX40 cameras. My preference in bird & wildlife photography is portrait captures. Lots of herons, egrets and cormorants, to be sure! http://tonybritton.smugmug.com/Other/Strictly-For-The-Birds/

I hope you enjoy these beautiful birds!

Best regards,

Tony

Lovely images Tony. Now you'll have to see what the sx60 can do.
Neil.

Hi, Tony. I too am impressed by the pictures. Do you do much post-processing?

Steve
Hi Steve,

The short answer is no, I don't spend much time post-processing my photos. On average I spend between 2-3 minutes per photo. The key to decreasing my post-processing time is by initially capturing a satisfying "foundation" image to work with. You can see examples of this in my "Canon SX50 SOOC Gallery" here:

These additional links might prove helpful in sharing how I capture and process my photos:

Thanks, Tony. Your quote "I've never used Auto or Program Modes" on your "Hints and Tips" page tells me I have to work on learning to use other functions of the SX50. Program mode is mostly what I have been using. Once I progressed to taking "adequate" pictures, I slacked off and didn't bother exploring the rest of the camera. I think your detailed suggestions will help put aside my apathy and move on to another level of competence. However, I'm sure my apathy will continue to prevail in the post-processing department!

Wow. To me, that would be all my free time!

I probably process 1 photo in 100. The rest just get saved as is if I don't delete them.
