What is the policy on North American birds with the word Grey in their name? Should those be renamed (moved) so they use Gray instead? From what I've seen this is what is being done (and I think this is the thing to do because all American birders use "Gray" instead of "Grey".)

Also does anyone know what happened to the Troupial thread that I started yesterday?

Hi I can find no trace of your Troupial thread at all, sorry.

As for the Grey/Gray issue, I think it was decided that for New World birds use the US spelling and Old World birds use the English spelling, but better wait for one of the others to confirm that.

You are correct in thinking we use American name for American birds, so gray would be correct.

I just made the move on this one.

What was the question on Troupial?

Thanks. I thought that is way to do it but wanted to make sure.

The Troupial question was about the name but I just looked it up on Avibase and that cleared it up.
