Mono lake sage grouse (1 Viewer)

I'm going to drive by Mono Lake next Wednesday, May 7th, and will have the time to spend 4-5 hours birding the area before having to move on. My number one species for the area is the greater sage grouse, any ideas where to look since I have limited time to explore? I don't care if I'm on the lake, and any other birds there are a bonus, but the grouse are the goal.

I missed them there last summer but I was at the wrong time of year and didn't look very hard.

You could also try contacting the BLM.

Arriving at a lek site before dawn is a good strategy.
