Please, please help, I need advice! (1 Viewer)

Hi, I wasn't sure where best to post this to get a response, so put it in a few places, so sorry if you've already seen this before.

I am raising a 'great-tit' chick (at least that's what I think it will grow up to be judging by pictures I've seen) that I saved from a cat. I've had him for a little while now and he's pefectly fine physically, no battle scars or anything. His feathers have come in well and I brought a big branch with lots of perching places inside for him that he practices his flying on.His flying is progressing, but I do still feed him by hand, even though he is capable of pecking a little at things off a spoon (or a branch) now, but he still prefers manual feeding (if that's the right expression)

I've never done this before and just desperatly need someone to tell me how I can tell when it's time to let him go and how best to go about it. I would hate to have saved him from a quick death-by-cat only to release him at the wrong time and make him face a slow death-by-starvation instead.

I'm desperatly worried about doing the right thing for him, so please someone help me!
