Hi, I have just joined the birdforum. I started as a garden bird feeder whose interest has evolved. I am a member of the WWT and my nearest venue is Barnes plus a recent member of RSPB. I have a colleague at work who is my mentor and recieves the weekend calls when i spot something new. He identified a rock pippit i saw at Broadstairs from a very inadequate descriotion, my photo of it was conformation.
We get a regular procession of garden birds as we have a fair size garden close to Windsor Great Park. Regulars include tits including Coal and Long tailed, nuthatch, jay, redwings and a sparrowhawk. once i have learnt how to add a photo i will.
In the year or so I have been actively watching birds and recording sitings i have now amassed a total of 78 different species of UK birds plus 20 in Atlanta, Georgia.
My first kingfisher was last weekend at the Wraysbury gravel pits though it wasnt much more than two sitings of a blue/orange flash.
regards
Pat
