Anthony Bentley Year list (1 Viewer)

This is my first attempt at year listing. Only 19 and passed my driving test in July. This has helped no end! My UK life list was 199 before the start of this year and my target was to get 150 for this year but 175 would be awesome! I Do 90% of my birding in Lincolnhire, Were I recently got my 200th bird for the county. But I do a little bit of twitching but I have only twitched in Yorkshire this year so far. Anyway at the minute my year list at 184, most recent Ferruginous Duck at Far Ings. And my life list is 219 now. Getting 200 on my first year list would be amazing especially if you consider that before the year I hadn't even seen 200 birds in Britain. Getting the 200th of the year will be hard so a mega twitch might be needed. Then new years eve B :) This is my year list so far.

It had to be. For the last 5 Years I have spent plenty of time at Far ings, Alkborough Flats and a few trips to Blacktoft Sands. 1 Bird has alaways eluded me, and it was my bogey bird. I even tried twitching them. At my last twitch of this species I thought it would be absolutly amazing if I saw this as my 200th bird of the year and I did.

I parked up at Alkborough Flats walked down the path, I heard a very well known pinging. My eyes stuck on the sky, I quickly got onto 6 flying Bearded Tit and they settled in the distance, 4 even flew right past the main hide later on.

I dipped Lesser Yellowlegs and Long-billed Dowitcher but I really didnt care, I got my 200th bird and what a bird!

Onto my next target 231, 1 more than my friends best year list ;)
