Ball nest in gorse (1 Viewer)

Hi,

What might make a woven ball nest in gorse?
Lined with moss.
Entrance hole.
Northern England

Could it be just a wren or something more exciting?

Wren - for sure. If it wasn't lined with feathers then it was one of several that the male makes, but the female didn't choose it. Often called cock's nests …… 'cos he 'cocked-up' in the choice of location I suppose :)
