Hi, my husband and I were cutting down an enormous vine crawling along our fence and destroying it. In the process halfway done, we found a baby bird hanging upside down in its nest. We had unfortunately disturbed it. I caught the bird before it fell, turned the nest back upside right and put the baby back in the nest. but more than half the vine has been removed. We tried to protect the nest from predators by placing a few cut vines around it. Did we do wrong? Will the mom and dad come back? So worried about this little fella. He had a few pin feathers coming in but still very young. He snuggled right down and fell asleep. I haven't seen any parents around yet. How will I know if they found him? Not sure if its a mockingbird or blue jay, we have both around here. I goggled pics but they mostly look the same as babies.
