Ditto, the Congrats to Dan G. I was kept away from BF.net a lot in Sept. and when I finally looked, and saw how many and how wonderful the entries were, I decided to just stay out - I felt I couldn't match a good number of the better shots.

It was a big deal for me to miss out, because I'm a real fan & dedicated participant in this feature of our site. I see that participant and voter numbers are steadily increasing... hooray.

I want to comment that there is something particularly wonderful about Dan G's shot: as it appears in a PC monitor window (72dpi, etc.), we don't really know if it's taken with the notorious two-bit camera, or the professional digital SLR (absent the equipment-line legend of course). In this case all the credit has to go directly to the photographer, proving that any of us have the opportunity to take a winning shot, regardless of what we spend on equipment! As a digiscoper, I have absolutely no excuse to say that the digital SLR gives an unfair advantage over my slower, less crisp equipment. Great job Dan G.

Great photograph Dan, and you are a well deserved winner. My pic got no votes!! When I see the quality of the work submitted I can see I have a long way to go. Thoroughly enjoyed looking at, and learning from, everyone's work.

Congratulations!
