On my way back from some friends this morning i came back over Herringfleet hills & prompted by colins recent post i stopped for a short while, out of the way behind a haystack, overlooking the marshes.

Several Goldfinch & Greenfinch on the wires
2 Jays
1 Magpie
4 Egyptian Geese
couple of Blackbirds
Common Gulls in a distant field
1 Mistle Thrush
1 F Marsh Harrier
1 M Kestrel

Around and about generally - lots of Woodpigeon, Starling, corvids & several thrushes.

And a brief view of one dragonfly, think it was a darter

So you missed the peregrine I had there this morning!. The Dragonfly would have been A Common Darter. Good site for raptors.

i've been known to wander down to Smock Mill every now and again, but not too sure why i haven't stopped here before, i go past often enough
