Zion NP, Utah - Cordilleran Flycatcher? (1 Viewer)

Just returned from holiday in SW USA and going through the mass of photos I took. This one was taken in Zion National Park on July 1 and I have taken it to be a Cordilleran Flycatcher. Am I right? It was not calling but it was nesting on a small rock wall near pools. :t:

Cordilleran is probably the right call...short pp, olivey upprts. slight shaggy crest and well within range. The only other potential candidates as I see it are Pacific-slope almost identical! but (out of range).and Dusky which like the latter has short pp but is within range. On balance I think you are correct.

cheers
