Hi there

Quiet session bird ringing up a local river valley behind costa del sol yesterday.
this is a site that i dont use during july and august, too many spanish and gibraltarians use the area to picnic, bar b q and camp, lots of disturbance for the birds, but when they have all gone back after local holidays, leave the site completely " trashed ",rubbish everywhere, has to be seen to be believed.

anyway, birding was interesting, local peregrine flew in to try to nab a green sandpiper, but " missed",luckily for the green sand.

a little raptor migration,incl.black kites,booted eagles,honey buzzards still trickling through,common buzzard,short toed eagles.

also a couple of black storks, some wader movement incl.,green sandpipers and common sand.

other migrants incl.spotted flycatcher, reed warblers, pallid and common swift,hoopoe,100's of swallows, few sand martins and red rumped swallows.

cheers for now

Enjoying your posts very much.
As you know I'm very keen on Spain and was wondering if it wouldn't be too much trouble for you to put names to the places you mention.
I've never seen Black Kite, Booted Eagle, Short-toed Eagle or Honey Buzzard. I'll have to drag the wife out there again for a another holiday! ;)

cheers
