Bird with a blue head??

I live in East Texas and took a picture of this bird thinking it was a female Indigo Bunting. I don't think that's correct now. Can someone help me figure out exactly what kind of bird this is?

Thanks!
Steph

How about a first summer male Blue Grosbeak. He has the plumage of the female but is starting to get the adult male coloring on head/ neck and tail.

And I see this is your first post, so let me be the first to welcome you to the forum!

Thank you, David! I have another question. All this time I thought this was an Indigo Bunting but now I'm thinking it's a Blue Grosbeak too. Can you confirm??

I am new to bird watching all together and totally addicted! lol

Agree with above - 1st bird is a 1st summer Blue Grosbeak, 2nd photo has a male (the blue one) and a female (the brown one) Indigo Bunting. Some great shots in here, Steph! The birding bug is great, isn't it?
