Quadruplet vs. Doublet (1 Viewer)

To my eye there's the obvious improvement in the corners but maybe some loss in the center sharpness and a loss of contrast. Could just be the the more contrasty one looks sharper. I'd probably try baffling the front of the flattener to improve the contrast.

Paul.

True, I found the same with my flattener, but the worst point was the inside of the T mount, a shiny surface so close to the camera's CCD was really destroying the contrast. I flocked everything from one end to the other, no more issues.

The AT does work better at correcting the curvature than the SW, on the ED70 it wasn't as effective as the AT appears to be from these samples. But I'm not so sure about sharpness, like Paul said maybe it's the contrast but centre sharpness appears to be slightly worst too.

My only really shinny part is the 2"-1.25" adapter. But the hole being slightly bigger than necessary, I install a baffle in front and another behind the adapter.
