Dear birders,

I saw the bird in New York but cant identify whether a mourning warbler or a common yellowthroat. The bird behavior use to hop and not walk on the grass.

Mourning Warbler in my opinion. (But wait for a more experienced birders thoughts B )

I say Mourning based on the yellow belly.

Mourning Warbler. The head is gray, there is something of an eye ring, and on a Common Yellowthroat (female) there is a sharp line dividing the yellow of the throat from the olive of the head, which is absent on this bird.

No expert, but would think yellow flanks suggest Mourning Warbler rather than Yellowthroat.
