I have been really enjoying my 10X viewing these days when I can, work has been taking up the majority of time lately.
I have premium 10X glass, Nikon, Zeiss Leica and Swarovski, and by chance I was able to use one of Bushnells new models the 10X42 Forge.
Initial opinions are very positive, It is an up grade from the Legend M which I and many of us have in the 8X42. Much better focusing and eyecups as compared to my Legend M 8X42 and the view is excellent for the price. If you are looking for a 10X42 at an economical price go ahead and try one, you may end up procuring one.

Compared to the 10X42 FL below it is a bit longer, but relatively light.

Andy,

Compared to the FL 10x42 the Forge 10x42 seems to be significantly heavier, by about 3.5oz. Interestingly, the Forge line also includes a 15x56 with AK prisms.

David,

Look forward to your findings at the Bird fair.

Peter, after using the FL 8 and 10X56 everything else feels light, so I did not realize that, thanks. Yes the new Forge 15X56 also has AK prisms, however If some one wants a 15X56 glass, they should not waste money and get the SLC 15X56, or the Meopta.

James, I think you are right and it locks, I ended up getting it at $265, I got a good sample. The legend M diopter is metal (with the loud squishy focus), perhaps they were saving weight with this one.
