If the pics were recent, would be very late for WAVI for Vermont, I would think, although I agree with Alex's ID's.

The pics are from about 6 weeks ago sorry bout that. I thought the facial pattern on the songster was slightly odd. Thanks for the confirmation on the IDs guys.

I'm not very familiar with the eastern versions of either species, but could #2 be a Fox Sparrow? The shape looks weird for Song.

No, the streaking on the breast, flanks and belly [among other things] are wrong for Fox. It's a Song.

The second one is indeed a Song Sparrow, not a Fox.

I thought:

#1 might be a washed-out Nashville Warbler

#2 Song Sparrow

I agree with Warbling Vireo for number 1 and a good old Song Sparrow for number 2.
