Could you please help to identify the some emberizid sparrows:

1) seen August 16
2) seen September 20
3-4) Could it be Swamp Sparrow? (judging by no marks on the breast)

1) Song Sparrow
2) Chipping Sparrow?
3-4) Swamp Sparrow

1 looks good for song sparrow, but I'm not 100% sure. 2 is a chipping sparrow. 3-4 is a swamp sparrow.

The browner tones of the face look more like song than swamp. And I don't see the big grey nape of a swamp (although it's hard to be sure about that).

I agree with the others on the other birds, too.

Buffy flank patches would show, and the tail's too long.

I don't see anything wrong with the tail, but I can't get past the lack of rufous panelling in the wings.

Perhaps its the crest and head shape that is swaying me...I'll just pass on 1 :t:
