Not sure where to put this - if I get no response here I'll try another forum.

Booked to go to L in September, so got Steve Dudley's book (2010) which says :

"Eurasian Jay Garrulus glandarius atricapillus cRB
"The black-crowned race G. g. atricapillus occurs commonly across the island."

But IOC v6.2 gives the range of atricapillus as "w Syria, w Jordan and Israel", and a few other places I've looked say exactly the same thing (obviously they're all derived from the same source). The best candidate I can see for Lesvos seems to be G. g. anatoliae, for which IOC gives "w Turkey to w Iran and n Iraq", but I'm not sure.

So which is it please ?
