Device for tracking birds

Hello all
I am new to this forum, so I hope my post is in the right place, I am developing a tiny little device for tracking birds. It is based on solar energy and GPS datalogging and weighs only a gram. When I started this project, it was more targeted towards biologists, so that they could track songbirds with GPS precision. However overtime, may be in the future, I see that it may replace or compliment bird rings and bands. I just want to know how people who have been using bird rings and band would feel about this technology.

Regards

There is a section for *ringers and banders,* it might be better in there, I'm sure the mods could move it for you if you sent them a pm.
