Question re: layers (1 Viewer)

Richard stern
Hi,

After adjusting portions of, or other aspects of, an image using different layers, I want to save the changes into 1 picture. Can anyone explain simply to me the differences between "Merge down", "Merge Visible" and "Flatten Image"? (PS Elements-2).

Thanks,

Richard

Merge down only flattens the image from the highlighted layer and downward. Flatten image simply flattens the entire set of layers into the background no matter where youre highlighted. Merge visible merges all the visible layers into onelayer above the background, I believe.
