Taken from my Menorcan Vacational Trip report a few weeks ago. I recorded this repeated single note call, which ''appeared'' to emanate from the centre of the reed bed, albeit there was the odd intermittent tree at marsh edge.
It was suggested that although sounding like Scops Owl, one needed to eliminate Midwife Toad from the ID....any help appreciated.

Just link to the post in your trip report Ken. I did mention midwife toad as you said the call was coming from the reeds, but I thought it sounded better for Scops.
