Higher magnifications from Nikon scopes (1 Viewer)

Since Nikon scopes can't receive 1,25' astro-eyepieces, the only way I found to get extra power is with an magnifier. If interested have a look at 2.5x magnifiers on cr-telescopes at http://pt-ducks.naturlink.pt/

David,

Very interesting, may we have your personal comments on the pro's and cons of this magnifier: from which supplier did you obtain your magnifier?

Thanks and Regards,

John

John,

I purchased it at http://www.focusoptics.co.uk/
Besides what I told at cr-telescopes, I could remember again that's the only way of getting extra-magnifications with Nikon and some other brands of birding scopes, have the advantages of not collecting dust between the scope body and eyepiece, and is fast to apply (you don't have to take out the eyepiece). The minus is that increases too much (would prefer 1.5 or 2x) and the image quality is not the same of a good astro-eyepiece.
