I found this fella up turning a water bowl I have out for the birds. I dont what type it is but I have seen bigger any ideas?

You're in the Kimberley? Where? I'm currently working at the Broome Bird Observatory, as you could prolly tell from my sig. :)

Sorry about that, Kununurra the opposite end of the Kimberley to Broome Gymfire do you specialise in seabirds? I cant say I have ventured there yet.
 
I've had to become a bit of a migratory wader expert while I've been up here, but I'm certainly not a specialist.

My fave birds are fresh-water fowl, easy to ID!
 
Hi all

I'll second Varanus' call of Yellow-spotted Monitor Varanus panoptes based on facial and tail pattern and what I can see of the dorsal area.

I agree it is a Yellow-spotted Monitor Varanus panoptes. I took some pictures of one in Kununurra last year and have seen quite a few up there.
