Olive Warbler (1 Viewer)

As part of my ongoing quest to see all the bird families, I'm now down to the last 40. One of those missing is the Nearctic Olive Warbler - anyone know where/how easy it might be in July or August in the US? Thanks

Shouldn't be too hard in southeast Arizona during that period e.g. Mount Lemmon, Madera Canyon etc. July might be better than August.

I saw a bird at the end of July in the Chiricahuas, Arizona. We were based in Portal. However, it wasn't the easiest bird to find, so best to plan some days up there.

Any of the "sky islands" in southeast Arizona will have them, and they'll still be around in July and August - higher elevations of Mt. Lemmon, Reef Townsite Campground in the Huachucas, trails up above Madera Canyon, etc. They won't be singing that late in the summer but with a few days you should be able to see some.

Just be aware that both months are miserably hot in the lower elevations that time of year, with near-daily afternoon thunderstorms in August. But high elevations in the mountains will be pleasant.
