Hi

Been away from bird watching for a few years, but spotted this bird near Stamford today.

Looks like a pheasant, walks like a pheasant. Assume it's a Pheasant?

Hi,

I am not sure that "albino" is quite the right word, "white" seems better. A local shoot round here has turned up a few white pheasants for the last three or four years, and this year there were more than previously, it was not unusual to see four or five birds (both cocks and hens) in the fields along the lane. The do seem to be very nervous. They do stand out, so predators must be a threat.

I have not seen one up close enough to comment on the eye colour, but expect that it is a naturally occuring morph that has been fixed by selective breeding.
