Only source which treats this as a full species is S&M '96. All others consider it a subspecies of Barn Owl, Tyto alba. Merging pages.
 
Cape Verde Barn Owl is treated as a "full" species in the BOU's Checklist of the Cape Verdes by Cornelius Hazevoet, as are the two Kestrel taxa.

When I said "only source" I did mean out of Clements, Howard&Moore, Sibley&Monroe, and IOC - those worldwide sources off which we base our consensus for the Opus.
