Bushnell Ex birder 7x36 vs Nikon prostaff 8x25

Hi, for a compact to carry along hiking, kayaking, birding, theater events ect.. does anyone have an opinion which might be a better choice?

The Nikon is more compact. I have a 8x25 for a compact. I also have a bushnell 8x28, but do not use it that much. The reverse porros are well built, though the optics are not as good as even 300 dollar 8x32s.

And to tell you the truth, most 8x32s are as bulky as 8x36 and 7x36, so there is no compactness in those.

What is the best value for spending $160-170? That is a broader question.
