There are quite a large number of these doves around our costal area but I'm not too sure of the exact identification. To my mind, they are very similar to a collard dove but have too much brown on them. Can anyone help?

I would say they're almost certainly African Collared Dove, which breed in the Arabian Peninsula. Were domesticated at one time (where Barbary Dove comes from); perhaps the population in your area has a hang-over from that, though I doubt it.
