Editing software (1 Viewer)

Hi all
Can anyone recommend any software for editing phonescoped video clips. Done on an Android phone, but will probably edit on a PC. Just after pretty basic features, eg slow-motion and editing different clips together seamlessly. Like I-movie but for PC.
many thanks
Ian

I have just purchased this myself: https://digital-photography-school.com/acdsee-video-studio-4-review/

Full disclosure: I bought it as part of a package where i also got a photo program and where the video studio is a free add on. I do not yet have experience with the video product (I have used ACDSee photo products for years). However, ACDSee usually have a try before you buy program, so download and try to see if it actually works for you.

The built-in Windows 10 video editing program is good for the basic; trimming, joining clips together etc it is rather confusingly hidden within the Photos App!

There are a couple of other free programs I have used.

Shotcut https://shotcut.org/ is a good all round video editor that can do most things. It is a bit confusing to get started with and suffers, like other open source projects, with everyone bolting on their extra bit of functionality.

Resolve https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/products/davinciresolve/edit is a full-on broadcast quality program that will do more than you will ever need. The free version lacks a few whistles and bangs but is more that capable. It can be a bit of a sledgehammer to crack a nut, but if you are willing to put in the time it will be worth it of you want to undertake more complex video projects.

Thanks both for your suggestions. Have just found that there is a slowmo feature in the Windows 10 photos App, which is useful. May look at shotcut too if I want to get more creative.

The 3 I use are Avidemux, HandBrake, and HitFilm Express. These are all free and work great in creating MP4 vids.

Avidemux is very fast in going throuh and editing out portions of the video you want and being able to stich multiple clips back together.

Handbrake I have used taking 4K videos and resizing to 1080P HD. This allows me to take in zoomed in videos with quality.

HitFilm Express has tons of features - Slow Mo etc. There are lots of YouTube videos out on how to use.

I have used a digital GoPro tyoe clone both as a remote camera and in conjuction with my Spotting scope to take vids. Here are some examples
