There seems to be some development going on for Android at last. These two both use photos rather than art work (from Wikipedia meaning data access is required) which never seems to capture the "normal" characteristics properly.

At least we have something to use on Android in the UK/Europe after so many years of iPhone dominance.

Pete

Both have (crappy) trial versions, links............

World Birds does use Wiki and needs a data connection - it's a good Wiki front end that's all.

Birds Pro does not need a data connection but has a Wiki linker if needed.

I have both and Birds Pro is the most useful.

World Birds just saves you having to Google 'a bird + wiki'.

I have just gone from Ipod & Bird Guides to Android & Bird Pro. I only downloaded it yesterday and I have to say it is very good indeed. Large download but still very good. Bird guides nips it for me still though.

Have a look at 'WP checklist' - it covers vagrants too.
Being mainly a listing app it's not graphically gorgeous but has a good mixture of drawings and photos.

Thanks for this but I think I tried it but I had to keep connecting to the net to get the data, am I mistaken?
