Fody on Reunion
See attached image of a fody, taken on Reunion in January 2019.
I presume this is a Madagascar fody; but the neatly demarcated breast band and brown belly is not what I expect to see on a Madagascar fody.
Can someone please help explain the plumage?

They can look quite patchy moulting from brown to red.
